Information and Reviews
- A place to send young minds to learn about all aspects of life. Not just the ABC's and 123's. The religious education helps students become well-rounded individuals that have equal respect for all cultures and faiths. The best education system by far.
- This well run school board won't allow elementary teachers to photocopy due to the cost of the paper. They won't issue notebooks to replace the paper or purchase new reading material to fulfill the new curriculum because they've spent the budget. If it wasn't for Dollarama the schools would be just a babysitting service.
- I am a new international student. I went to the TCDSB on September 01, 2023, for registration and Orientation. However, I go to the school this morning, the school told me I cannot attend school because it is full. TCDSB did not tell me that the school was full when I registered.
- Very bad working place! No improve, a Chinese project manager likes to micro manage. Working harass during your working hour. They even terminate employee at sick leave with doctor notes. Very rude, and violation of human rights.

What school districts are in Toronto?
There are several school districts in Toronto that serve the diverse population of students in the city. The main school districts in Toronto include the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) and the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB). These two districts oversee a large number of elementary and secondary schools throughout the city, providing education to students from kindergarten through grade 12.
In addition to these major districts, there are also a number of smaller school districts in Toronto, including the Conseil scolaire Viamonde, which offers French-language education, and the Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud, which provides French Catholic education.
How do I find out which school district I belong to in Toronto?
To find out which school district you belong to in Toronto, you can use the school district locator tool provided by the government of Ontario. By entering your address or postal code, you can determine which school district your residence falls within.
Alternatively, you can contact the individual school districts directly for more information on which schools are in their jurisdiction. The TDSB and TCDSB websites also provide maps and information on school boundaries within Toronto.
Can I choose which school district to enroll my child in Toronto?
In Toronto, parents have the option to enroll their children in either the public schools overseen by the TDSB or the Catholic schools managed by the TCDSB. While residential address typically determines which school district a student attends, parents may apply for special exemptions or transfers under certain circumstances.
It's important to note that school admission criteria may vary between districts, and some schools within a district may have specialized programs or require additional documentation for enrollment. Parents should research the schools they are interested in and contact the school district directly for specific details on enrollment procedures.
What are some of the differences between the TDSB and TCDSB in Toronto?
The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) and the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) have some key differences in terms of education philosophy and programming. The TDSB is a secular, public school system that welcomes students from all backgrounds and beliefs, while the TCDSB is a Catholic school board that integrates religious education into its curriculum.
Additionally, the TDSB offers a wide range of specialized programs and services, including French immersion, gifted education, and alternative schools, while the TCDSB emphasizes Catholic values and teachings in all aspects of the curriculum. Parents should consider these differences when choosing a school district for their children in Toronto.
