Toronto is easiest to understand from a streetcar window. Kensington Market, the Annex, Leslieville, Little Portugal and Roncesvalles each have their own main street and their own loyalties, while Scarborough, North York and Etobicoke hold some of the best cooking and most trusted family businesses in the city. Close to half of Torontonians were born outside Canada, and you can taste it in every neighbourhood.

Each list is short on purpose and shows every business with its address, phone number, opening hours and a few lines on what it does best, so you can compare a few good options quickly.
Four seasons, different needs
A Toronto year has its own calendar: patio season in summer, snow and salt in winter, and a long list of errands that come with both. Our home, health and vehicle categories matter as much as the restaurant lists, whether you need a furnace repaired in January or a bike tuned up in April.
